Familiar

Familiar

Do you know that familiar feeling

When the words won’t

Stop like a dripping

Tap

Endlessly pouring

From an over-tapped reservoir

Of conflicting emotions?

And you want to ask yourself a question

But you can not guarantee the answer will not be the truth.

Do you know that familiar feeling

When you don’t know what to think,

Bypassing all the stops that

Halt

The overwhelming tide of

Something you can’t quite

Put your finger on?

And you want the world to hear a voice

But you don’t know what it says.

I wish I could communicate

But all these words

Keep

Getting in the way.

About Maitiu

I am a collection of aspects. A father, a husband, an uncle, a son, a teacher, an aspiring writer, an amateur photographer, a poor guitar player, a slightly better singer... Online however I am a 365er looking to find out what people make of my personal poetic musings and my photographs. Drop a penny in an old man's hat and let me know what you think...
