A Fool’s Tear

A lonely tear for a lonely fool.
Remembering yesterday’s that never were.
I cry into a glass. And let my days float away.
As the night begins to ebb and you are not here.

I want to rail, to shout but my anger fades,
As dark fades into a dawn of empty hopes.

Give me a reason to hold on.
Find me a reason to be here.

And you reach over and kiss my lips
And I remember.

About Maitiu

I am a collection of aspects. A father, a husband, an uncle, a son, a teacher, an aspiring writer, an amateur photographer, a poor guitar player, a slightly better singer... Online however I am a 365er looking to find out what people make of my personal poetic musings and my photographs. Drop a penny in an old man's hat and let me know what you think...
